I don’t have a lot of time to shoot now that I’ve got baby full time. But once in a while I try to grab the fascination of the moment with whatever camera I have handy. On this particular day the wind was dancing through the trees as Deco crawled around on his baby blanket. Enjoy.
I’ve had my precious Prius Pearl since 2007 and all these years I’ve been obsessed with the back up camera. So much so that after wrapping my short film “Pearl” DP Jen May and I decided to drive down the Hollywood Hills in reverse and attempt to shoot the back up camera screen with her 5D. We covered the 5D with black cardboard and here is the result. The footage did not make it into the film (often what I find aesthetically pleasing is apparently NOT. As I am often reminded by my producer husband), but it’s fun to finally look at the footage and share it with anyone out there that has a similar obsession with their back up camera…anybody… I think it’s probably time to get a wide angle lens and start shooting with it instead of fantasizing about driving around in reverse while I shoot the screen in my car.
This week take a peak at what is happening in the digital art scene of Los Angeles.
I recently submitted a video art piece titled “Sisters” to the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival. One of 15 digital shorts selected, I’m really looking forward to the screening Saturday morning (see details below). Meanwhile, the artist reception will be at LACDA (Los Angeles Center for Digital Arts) this Thursday night as part of LA’s Downtown Artwalk. Hope to see you there!

My YouTube obsession started with a crazy girl named Andie Mills and her adventures with BFF Babs Darling.

Fast forward a few years and I’m still striking a pose, only the casting has changed to my beautiful baby boy, Deco. Shh! Don’t tell Babs, she’d die of jealously.

Very excited to share that last Friday hubby’s kickstarter campaign for American Psycho funded with only hours to spare. And I just had to give a big shout out to all the people that helped this project get funding. You know who you are and if you happen to find this blog post – This one is for you! Hope to see you in December. Cheers!
Jesse and I have been working non-stop on his Kickstarter campaign for American Psycho the musical. Needless to say we’ve been living and breathing all things Patrick Bateman for the past few weeks so when we thought of making a baby morning routine for Mother’s Day, we really couldn’t resist. I have a feeling we’ll be out a lot of money for Dec’s therapy sessions someday… Hope you enjoy!
And be sure to follow Patrick Bateman on Twitter for all the AP updates! follow Patrick Bateman on Twitter
This signed copy of American Psycho is just one of the very cool rewards on the AP kickstarter page. If you are still reading this and have not visited Jesse’s page (did I mention it was American Psycho on Kickstarter?) I’m thinking you are a robot whose programmer forgot to write code for basic knowledge of pop culture combined with the human emotion called curiosity.
My hubby, Jesse Singer, is producing AMERICAN PSYCHO, a musical based on the book by Bret Easton Ellis. And last week he boarded the roller coaster ride named “kickstarter” to raise funds for the production premiering in London, December 2013. In true wifey fashion, I’ve put aside my usual Internet shinanigans to help Jess get the word out. Soooo if you have somehow found this post on the world wide (and incredibly overpopulated) web – here is his Kick(ass)starter page. It’s got a very high cool factor so check it out.
Still on the page? Hangout with me on g+! Well, watch a recording (that has horrible sound delays – I can’t decide whether to blame Google or my slow Internet connection. Probably my slow Internet connection. Write “I need to install new router” mantra 100 times.) of me hanging out with myself on g+. For lots of blank stares and keyboard sound effects click here.
So I was feeling pretty rotten this past week, so of course I decided to shoot a video from my “sick bed” instead of getting some much needed sleep. Brilliant. Originally I had planned to make a fun video about a beer pong tournament I was in the previous weekend, but of course all my plans fell through when I feel ill and spent what little energy I had caring for Baby Deco.
PS I know the pop phone thing is kinda weird, but get used to it, cause I’m too cheap AND busy to figure out a better solution right now.
I recently did a collab with the awesome Turkish technology review channel, iPhonedo on YouTube. And since the video posted last week the awesome peeps of iPhonedo have been arriving on my channel SuperCaliListic. So cool. One tiny setback…I don’t speak Turkish. So this video goes out to the iPhonedo Army. Thanks for all the love and I hope you enjoy hanging out in Super Cali Land!
I was recently in a collab with the YouTube channel iPhonedo – technology reviews for Turkey. It was a super fun shoot and although I don’t speak Turkish, from what I can SEE it seems pretty funny. Check it out.
AND iPhonedo used some of the footage to make this GarageBand music video. Very cool:
