Super Cali Listic

I like so many new moms think we can cook, clean, bath, burp and still manage to have time for our own endeavors. The truth is you need help, and even then you’re working overtime. And now queue the cliche “But it’s the best thing I’ve ever done” and it’s true it is! I LOVE my little man. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have moments where I go completely bonkers. Like this week when I TRIED to shoot a video about my trip to YouTube Space LA…

The other day Deco was napping, the dishes were done, the laundry was folded AND there was still lots of daylight. So of course, I sat down to my favorite past time – firing up iMovie for video log 236 and counting. Some might say I have a problem, but I like to think of it as a much needed creative outlet for this overworked mommy and aspiring filmmaker. But just as I sat down to ramble about God knows what, Jesse wandered into my shot and unwittingly became my Super Cali subject. I think you’ll agree after watching this video that I’m right in wanting him and his sexy legs to be in more of my Super Cali vids. For those of you just coming to the party, Jesse and I have a very strict agreement that I can film him, but only from the waist down. The grandparents are in town so Jesse and I decided to go to his office to do our taxes. Let’s just say I’m hard at work. Hard at work analyzing how my sweater makes me look like a matronly librarian type while I spin around the room. Let’s just say I’m not the paperwork type and I’m avoiding my very intricate receipt filing system. Which consists of wading up all my paperwork into a tiny little box and then sorting each meaningless scrap the day before my taxes are due.

So my husband is producing the musical American Psycho and the other night he brought home a very lifelike and therefore very scary Patrick Bateman doll. I kinda freaked out and banished the figurine to his office. Click to watch.

It’s month 5 and time to reenter my cyber life one short vlog at a time. This week Baby Deco gets his first look at iMovie and I do some tummy time and rolls with him. It’s a meet in the middle kinda thing. Click to watch!

I’m still on my version of maternity leave, meaning “on a break from posting videos on my various YouTube channels while I feed baby from my booby.” And as many of you know an internet addict like me can’t quit cold turkey, so of course I have adjusted all my social networking settings so that in one click from my iPhone I can post random home videos to all my various sites. This past weekend Jesse, BOB, Domino and I drove up the coast to my home town, the Santa Ynez Valley. Check out footage from my girlfriend’s baby shower (she’s due August 29, only ONE day from me!) and of the beautiful HWY 101 coastline.

Between allergies and a characteristically weak immune system I have spent a good part of my life sick in bed. Although I find it to be miserable, apparently I also find it to be entertaining, as I have shot some of my favorite videos with a “sick” theme.
