I’ve been organizing a lot of video files recently and I found this gem today. Living in southern California I have developed a fascination of the freeway overpasses. I filmed this one when driving in Los Angeles from the north bound 110 onto the north bound 101. I kept the sound file as a news program covering life in Syria happened to be on the radio as I was recording. Every time I hear about Syria the situation seems to get worse instead of getting better. Sending my love to the beautiful people of that beautiful country. I’ve never been there but hope to see it some day.
I don’t have a lot of time to shoot now that I’ve got baby full time. But once in a while I try to grab the fascination of the moment with whatever camera I have handy. On this particular day the wind was dancing through the trees as Deco crawled around on his baby blanket. Enjoy.
This week take a peak at what is happening in the digital art scene of Los Angeles.
I recently submitted a video art piece titled “Sisters” to the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival. One of 15 digital shorts selected, I’m really looking forward to the screening Saturday morning (see details below). Meanwhile, the artist reception will be at LACDA (Los Angeles Center for Digital Arts) this Thursday night as part of LA’s Downtown Artwalk. Hope to see you there!

The grandparents are in town so Jesse and I decided to go to his office to do our taxes. Let’s just say I’m hard at work. Hard at work analyzing how my sweater makes me look like a matronly librarian type while I spin around the room. Let’s just say I’m not the paperwork type and I’m avoiding my very intricate receipt filing system. Which consists of wading up all my paperwork into a tiny little box and then sorting each meaningless scrap the day before my taxes are due.
It’s month 5 and time to reenter my cyber life one short vlog at a time. This week Baby Deco gets his first look at iMovie and I do some tummy time and rolls with him. It’s a meet in the middle kinda thing. Click to watch!
I’m still on my version of maternity leave, meaning “on a break from posting videos on my various YouTube channels while I feed baby from my booby.” And as many of you know an internet addict like me can’t quit cold turkey, so of course I have adjusted all my social networking settings so that in one click from my iPhone I can post random home videos to all my various sites. Good times. Click below to watch videos from Mommyland, or as Jesse likes to call it “The Dairy Farm”.
This week I had fun bragging about my dog Domino and her recent claim to fame: the cover of the Woof Woof Doggy Salon brochure. “She’s basically, like, the Kardashian equivalent of a dog”. Click to watch!
This past weekend Jesse, BOB, Domino and I drove up the coast to my home town, the Santa Ynez Valley. Check out footage from my girlfriend’s baby shower (she’s due August 29, only ONE day from me!) and of the beautiful HWY 101 coastline.
For the 4th of July I headed up the coast to Santa Barbara to watch the fireworks show. Click to watch:
Every summer I visit the in-laws in Winchester, Virginia, and about 80 percent of my time there lying in the hammock watching storm clouds roll by. So it’s no surprise that I vlog from “The Winchester Hammock” almost every summer. Good times. Click to watch!
